Job Description:
We are looking for Environmental Laboratory Technicians for an environmental consulting and engineering company on the Northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana. The Laboratory Technician supports a team that measures and analyzes soil samples for engineering design related to construction projects. The data/information collected from the testing is utilized to enhance the safety of construction projects.

Your Main Tasks:
-
Must be able to carry out verbal and written instructions effectively, retrieve and interpret information from technical manuals, as well as work with numbers, including mathematical calculations involving percentages, fractions, and decimals. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Perform all testing accurately as described in the testing standards ASTM and AASHTO.

Possess communication skills to discuss projects with co-workers, managers, and engineers.

Attention to detail, including the ability to distinguish colors and shades in soil descriptions, utilize small and delicate laboratory equipment, and follow test procedures required. Record keeping

Must be able to work in the field marking project sites and help assist our drilling crew to collect samples if necessary.

Perform a wide range of physical activities including sustained walking, bending, twisting, standing, reaching, and performing medium to heavy work including occasionally lifting 40 pounds or more.

High school or equivalent (Required)

Earth Science/Geology Degree (Required)

OT Encouraged (Some Mandatory OT)
